Kris Tolman

Kris Tolman (she/her) is the Manager for Education Programming at NISOD.
Prior to working at NISOD, Kris worked in faculty development and was an adjunct professor at Austin Community College (ACC). She received both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Brigham Young University and is currently working towards a Doctorate of Philosophy in Adult Education at Texas State University. She has led various service learning initiatives including an Elementary School Health Education Outreach for a local elementary school serving minority students and the Tiny Earth Student Sourcing Antibiotic Discovery program through Wisconsin University.
Kris’s current research interests include barriers to diversity, equity, and inclusion training, the intersection of adult development and adult learning, and psychological safety in the classroom. She is passionate about student success and empowerment and has completed the Summer Institute on Active and Engaged Teaching, Teaching and Learning Academy, Quality Matters Certification, as well as facilitated workshops for student and faculty development, and presented at the Student Leadership Conference for ACC.
