Heather Lupkey has been an adjunct faculty instructor at Truckee Meadows Community College since 2011, teaching general and cultural nutrition in healthcare. She received the Quality Matters (QM) Certification for two of the department's online nutrition courses. Recently, she became the course designer and instructor for the Career and Technical Education Program's instructional facility design course. Since 2011, she has participated in professional development opportunities, is an active member in the part-time faculty committee, and was part of the Spring 2022 cohort group to complete the ACUE Effective Online Teaching Practices (EOTP) course. Heather has been in various administrative and leadership positions for more than 10 years in government healthcare. She has served as a mentor to aspiring individuals wanting to become supervisors in the healthcare field, created and developed levels of leadership programs within healthcare organizations, and oversaw general workforce and leadership programs within healthcare organizations. Furthermore, she has been involved with local and state professional organizations. She has served on several volunteer board positions over the years, supporting the field of dietetics and hosting state professional conferences serving the dietetic community of students, professionals, and retirees.
