Description

The diversity of students today requires individualized approaches to communication. Using examples from their own classes, the facilitators help others understand and communicate better with their students. The challenges that have occurred in the past and strategies available to overcome them are discussed. Each strategy has its own inherent strengths and potential weaknesses.

Learners will have the option to earn a certificate of attendance or a certificate with CEUs upon completion of the webinar. To earn a certificate with CEUs, the learner must successfully pass the learning assessment with a score of 80% or higher. All learners must complete the webinar evaluation to earn credentials.

The duration of this webinar is one hour, which equates to 0.1 Continuing Education Unit (CEU).

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Participate in an activity that can be used in the classroom to determine your preferred interaction style with students.

  2. Think, group, share: Have each quadrant brainstorm their three "best” and "worst” personality traits.  How do these affect our teaching/students?

  3. Identify tendencies in yourself and in others that lead to effective communication.
