Description

How do we help our students become better critical thinkers (i.e., metacognition)? In this post-pandemic era, we have to be intentional about helping students take ownership of their learning so they can be successful at our institutions. During this workshop, participants learn how to coach students through note-taking, reading, studying, and using campus support services to ensure their success.

By the end of this workshop, participants know or be able to:

  • Understand what critical thinking "metacognition" is in higher education.
  • Understand the difference between teacher-centric and learner-centric environment.
  • Implement practical and actionable items for students to be successful in the classroom.
  • Learn how to support students holistically.
  • How to support students holistically

Participate in mock sessions and hands-on exercises to learn how students can use note-taking, reading strategies, and studying while in college.

Digital Badge, Certificate, and CEUs

All workshop participants can obtain, at no additional cost:

  • A digital badge and certificate that provide a web-enabled, verifiable documentation of your professional learning experience.
