In an era of attention overload and calendar chaos, higher education professionals are craving learning experiences that are meaningful, manageable, and—let’s be honest—more engaging than a never-ending PowerPoint. That’s where microlearning comes in.
This lively, down-to-earth session explores how microlearning and micro-credentials are transforming the professional development landscape. You’ll discover how short, focused learning “snacks” can lead to big results in knowledge retention, application, and career advancement. We’ll debunk myths (“Isn’t this just a trendy buzzword?”), break down the benefits (yes, they’re real), and explore how institutions are making microlearning scalable and sustainable. Using humor, relatable examples, and interactive insights, we’ll help you imagine new ways to empower your staff, faculty, and even yourself with learning that actually fits into the day-to-day reality of higher ed. From quick wins to credentialed skill-building, this session proves that small doesn’t mean insignificant—it means smart.
